Course Description

Welcome to the beginning of your karate training! Through this course you'll be taught the 10th kyu basics of Seiyo-no Shorin-Ryu Karate. The material included here will help prepare you for your 9th kyu, yellow stripe rank promotion test.

REQUIREMENTS: Taking this course implies that you are an active karate student at Branson Karate dojo. The material displayed in this course is supplemental to attending actual karate classes.

Remote training is dependent on your work ethic, attitude, mindset, self motivation, commitment and your ability to travel occasionally to receive personal training and testing.

About the instructors

Sensei

Ronald Leach and Vashon Borich-Leach

Vashon Borich-Leach, Sensei has been studying, competing and assisting students in the martial arts since 1992. She is currently a 7th Dan (7th degree black belt) in both Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate and a 5th Dan in Kyokushin Karate as well as a master Wudang Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong instructor. She has over 6,000 hours in teaching youth and adult karate classes. From 1999-2009 she built her martial arts background in the Kyokushin-Kai Karate lineage. In 2010 Sensei began working with Kaicho Harold Mead, 10th Dan instructor in Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo Kai. Her continued studies have added additional experience in traditional weapons, jujitsu and advanced martial arts techniques. She enjoys sharing this knowledge back to her students. Ronald Leach, Hanshi is a 10th Dan in Seiyo-No Shorin-Ryu Karate. He relocated from Minnesota to Branson in 2014. Leach Sensei has studied and mastered and holds black belts in many different martial arts styles through over 50 years of continuous study. Including but not limited to Shorin Ryu, Kyokushin, Jujitsu, Iaido (sword), Judo, Shui-te and Taekwondo. He is an expert instructor who is considered a "teacher's teacher." Black belts from many different martial arts styles and schools come to him for advanced training. Together as master teachers, Ron Leach and Vashon Borich-Leach offer a variety of different Martial arts classes.
